Poached Pears

Ingredients
  • Pears of any sort.
  • 1 liter of water, give or take
  • Juice from ½ a lemon
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 4-5 cloves
  • 1 T honey
Instructions
  1. Peel and quarter pears.
  2. In a large, heavy pot, combine water, lemon juice, honey, and spices.
  3. Add pears.
  4. Heat until just simmering, then reduce heat to medium low.
  5. Poach for at least 20 minutes, then turn off heat and let the pears cool in the pot.
  6. Refrigerate for up to 1 week
